During the pandemic did you lose your job or significant income and try to get a forbearance for your mortgage, rent or other debts so you could make reduced payments or skip payments?
Yes
No
Have you run into problems trying to get this help?
Yes
No
Tell us a bit about yourself and your situation. How did you lose your income? Where have you been trying to turn for help? And how has that been going?
If your lender let you skip or make reduced payments, did they explain what the “repayment plan” would be? If so, how will that work in your case?
*
For example, did they tell you you'd have to make up the payments in a big lump sum or balloon payment, or did they say the missed payments would be moved to the back end of the loan term?
Since you got your mortgage forbearance, have you started making payments again?
*
Yes, I am making my full monthly mortgage payment again.
Yes, but I am only making partial mortgage payments.
No, I am still skipping payments on my forbearance plan.
Other
Since you selected "other" about making payments, please explain.
Since you are making payments again, did your lender explain the repayment plan to you? What is it?
Did they move the missed payments to the end of the loan term so you could just resume your regular monthly payments without any additional amount on top of your regular payment to catch up? What sort of plan did they give you? Are you worried about being able to afford it?
Since you are making partial payments does that mean you have not finalized a repayment plan with your lender yet?
Explain if there is anything to add beyond the earlier question about what your lender told you about a repayment plan
Has what your mortgage lender told you changed over time?
Take the time you need to explain. For example, many lenders were telling people things that were not true in March, but later things improved with some lenders.
Did you ask your landlord for help because you couldn't afford to pay rent? If so, what did they say?
Are you worried about getting evicted or have you been evicted by your landlord?
Are you aware of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention eviction order that can stop a landlord from evicting you if you fill out the form and give it to your landlord? Have you done that?
Do you rent from a small mom and pop type landlord or a bigger company?
If it's a bigger company or rental complex, what's the name of it?
What bank(s) or other financial firm(s) are you dealing with?
We won't share this information but it is helpful to see if a lot of people are having a good or bad experience with a particular lender.
Are there any other bills or loans you tried or are trying to get help with? Tell us what happened.
For example, your auto loan, credit card bills, etc.
In what other ways is the COVID-19 pandemic affecting you financially?
Are you worried about having your electricity, water, heat or other utilities shut off for non-payment?
Yes
No
Tell us more about what's happening with your utilities being shut off
Is there anything else you'd like to share about what's most important, difficult, or meaningful as you've struggled to survive financially during the pandemic?
